Howdy there folks. We interrupt your regular fun news here on the Vault Games Blog to talk about something that excites everyone… PRICE CHANGES.

That’s right. In case you’ve been living under a rock over the last few years, some serious worldwide issues were caused by COVID to both the production and logistics of goods, most notable of which to us of course, were Hobby Products.

Now, while prices have managed to weather a lot of these problems (the most notable of which was the shipping of a container of board games from China to USA going from $3kUSD to $30kUSD in a matter of weeks), it seems that the increased cost of goods and the fluctuation of the global exchange rates have finally made their way through the supply chain to us here at Vault.

Combine these increases to cost-of-goods with the rising costs faced by the store in terms of wages, power, water, cleaning and other facility management, we’ve had to raise the price across nearly everything, and have already been doing so as products have been restocked from suppliers at this higher cost price.

Now, it’s not too drastic, a dollar or two here or there, and most of the time, you’ll find our pricing is still below the standard RRP of the product, but there is one product line that saw a massive price increase that we will be talking about today… Magic: The Gathering.

Wizards of the Coast HQ put out this article back in April (link) warning of impending price rises, and these raises have been happening since Commander Legends: Baldur’s Gate was released, even on restocked or reprinted product. With the upcoming release of Dominaria United, you may have noticed that Booster Boxes and Bundles have all increased around the 10-11% mark from Streets of New Capenna, and this is due to that price rise.

With an increase to the cost of product as well as the running of the store, it also means we have to increase our MTG event prices to ensure the events we run are sustainable into the future. So below is the breakdown:

MTG Commander Events

  • Regular Event Price $14.00
  • Monthly Mythic $58.00
  • Annual Mythic $580.00 (Available during Black Friday Only)

MTG Draft Events

  • Regular Event Price: $32.00
  • Monthly Mythic: $110.00
  • Annual Mythic: $1100.00 (Available during Black Friday Only)

The Regular Event price changes will come into effect upon the release of Dominaria United on Friday 9 September 2022 and Mythic Subscriber prices will already reflect this new pricing.

If you are already a Mythic Subscriber, it is important that you check your email inbox (or junk folder) as soon as possible and agree to the updated pricing that was sent out from out store, otherwise your subscription will not renew automatically.

We understand that it’s not fun paying more for things. We don’t want to either. These changes ensure we can keep providing the best space we can for you now, and into the future.
